As a Mechanical Engineer with ICO Energy and Engineering, Yasemin performs Commissioning Services on new construction projects and assists with Focused Energy Studies at existing facilities, all with the goal of identifying energy-saving measures for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
In the field, much of her commissioning work relates to new construction projects that are required to comply with the LEED certification standard.
Since joining ICO, Yasemin has taken on several projects that have required the identification and implementation of cost-effective energy-reduction strategies—like lighting controls and HVAC upgrades—allowing her to build her skills in commissioning engagements and energy studies.
Prior to ICO, Yasemin worked as a Project Engineer for a general contractor where she assisted with project operations, scheduling, and execution, including change orders, project logs, submittals, and RFIs.
Yasemin received her Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, where her coursework included case studies for emissions reductions in logistics as well as Finite Element Methods and Thermodynamics.
