BERDO/BEUDO

BERDO 2.0 THIRD-PARTY VERIFICATION

Mandated by the City of Boston, the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) 2.0 requires all buildings over 20,000 SF to meet increasingly stringent carbon emissions standards each year, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Penalties will be assessed for failure to meet specific annual targets, starting in 2025.

Under the ordinance, property owners are required to report their energy and water consumption each year, and to have a qualified third-party consultant verify the accuracy of the information.

PLEASE NOTE: The first deadline is June 15, 2022.
