PROJECT OVERVIEW 

Mispro offers full-service AAALAC-accredited preclinical vivarium rental laboratory space. They offer comprehensive vivarium services including animal husbandry, veterinary, technical and IACUC. Mispro is dedicated to advancing human health by ensuring that drug discovery and development teams have the facilities and supporting laboratory animal services they need to successfully conduct effective research studies. 

SCOPE DESCRIPTION 

ICO was retained by Mispro to provide commissioning services for the vivarium laboratory fit-out at 200 Technology Square. Testing of the critical control environments, temperature, humidity, airflow, and lighting is essential to validate that Mispro’s clients are provided with the level of service they expect. The equipment providing these key attributes must all operate within specific ranges to ensure the integrity of their activity within the vivarium is not negatively affected. 

ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS 

During commissioning, a detailed review of the TAB report identified widespread airflow deficiencies. These deficiencies were attributed to the existing equipment not being able to maintain the new airflows required for proper pressurization throughout the vivarium. ICO coordinated with the design team and construction to remove several troublesome exhaust valves and meet the exhaust needs with a new fan.
