Puishys Residence Complex – Bryant University
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Puishys Residence Complex is a four-story dormitory completed in 2025 and represents the newest residential facility at Bryant University. It is designed to provide a comfortable and modern living environment; the building reflects and supports the high standards of the institution.
SCOPE DESCRIPTION
ICO was retained by Bryant University to provide commissioning services for the Puishys Residence Complex. The scope of work focused on a proactive commissioning approach from early design to closeout, including thorough design reviews, routine site visits, witnessing equipment startup, and performing detailed functional performance testing to verify that all building systems were operating in accordance with the design intent prior to the start of the academic year.
ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS
During commissioning, a detailed review of the TAB report identified widespread airflow deficiencies. Further investigation determined that multiple fire/smoke dampers throughout the building were closed, restricting airflow and preventing systems from achieving design performance. Through coordination and corrective action, the dampers were reopened and verified.
